LOCATION: The Maritim Hotel lies on a 25 hectare private estate known
as Balaclava along Turtle Bay (between Port Louis and Grand Baie) on the north-west
coast of Mauritius, which is the sunniest region of Mauritius. The distance to
the airport is 60km (45 min) and to Port Louis 12km (15 min). New trunk roads
provide easy access to the Maritim Hotel. The 'Balaclava' Estate is a historical
estate dating back to the 18th century, with a fascinating natural scenery from
Mauritius. On the northern border flows Rivière Citron, over dams and cascades
into a shallow lagoon flanked by lush tropical vegetation of Mauritius. Mysterious
ruins, remain to be explored as witnesses of the colonial times. Walkways and
footpaths allow for long walks through the luxuriant garden of the estate with
its magnificent views over the most picturesque mountain range in Mauritius. 'Turtle
Bay' is the first Marine National Park in Mauritius with well preserved underwater
life. There are excellent snorkeling grounds right off the beach. The white sandy
beach in front of the hotel is about 500m long and protected by a coral reef.
The bay provides excellent conditions for all kind of water sports.

All 180 rooms are in the 2 wings stretching from the main building
in a slightly elevated position overlooking the bay. All rooms have a magnificent
sea view!

Thatched terrace split level restaurant. Excellent views. 260 covers. Breakfast:
Buffet with an extensive selection of hot and cold dishes. Dinner 3 - 4 times
weekly different buffets or barbecues. On the other days, table d'hote menus with
several choices for the various courses. Vegetarian meals available. 'Mon
Desir' Gourmet Restaurant: Monday - Saturday, evenings only. A la carte restaurant
of the highest standard; international delicacies; air-conditioned, 50 covers.
Guests on half board tariffs receive a credit of Rs. 400 each. 'La Maree':
Beach Restaurant open 4 evenings per week. Seafood specialties and other grillades.
Live music. Beach Bar: Lunch: A selection from the grill and 'plat du jour' lunch.
THE BARS: Quarter Deck: Main seafront bar with incredible
view over the whole bay. Distinct 'maritime' atmosphere. Daily Snack menu. Happy
Hour: Monday - Saturday from 17.00 to 19.00 hours with live music and drinks at
